Prior to forming Dr. Hook And The Medicine Show, George Cummings, Ray Sawyer and Billy Francis were members of an earlier group called The Chocolate Papers, along with Bobby Dimingus, Popeye Phillips and Jimmy "Wolf Cub" Allen.
